Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO), host of the annual Bend Venture Conference (BVC) set for October 16-17, has selected the five launch stage companies that will go on to compete for an estimated $500,000 at the 2014 BVC as Craft3, a CDFI lender that expanded operations to Central Oregon last year, adds a $26,500 investment to the BVC Fund.

Exports from the Bend-Redmond area rose 27 percent between 2012 and 2013 for a record total of $119 million worth of merchandise, the U.S. Department of Commerce reported recently.

While the Bend Metropolitan Statistical Area registered record export sales in the millions in 2013, other MSAs dwarf it with sales in the billions.
