Redmond Company Makes Oxygen On Demand

Surrounding Redmond’s airport is a formidable cluster of aviation industries. One such company served as the wind beneath the wings of two Swiss pilots on a solar-powered airplane by supplying oxygen on demand.

Mountain High Equipment & Supply is a Redmond company that manufactures custom built-in and carry-on aviation oxygen systems.  Their story was featured in a recent Bend Bulletin Article that explains how a portable oxygen system was able to sustain two pilots flying an almost impossible journey across the Pacific Ocean from Japan to Hawaii.

 It is interesting to note that Redmond can fly under the radar in big stories such as that of the Solar Impulse II journey told in this video by PBS’s “Nova” program which aired January 31st.
