October 4th Declared "National Manufacturing Day"

At the City Council meeting held September 10th, Mayor, George Endicott, read the proclamation declaring Friday, October 4th, 2019; “National Manufacturing Day”. Redmond has a reputation for being the “Hub” for a lot of things in Central Oregon. “The Manufacturing Hub” is one of them as evidenced by the vast cluster of traded-sector companies east of Hwy 97. In the proclamation there are few statistics about Redmond’s manufacturing that may surprise you. Read the full proclamation here.

Each year, REDI pays homage to companies that help drive our economic vitality in the community by hosting the Annual Made In Redmond Tour. The Tour is designed to educate business leaders, educators, elected officials, and stakeholders in the community about the return on investments that businesses make to headquarter their operations in Redmond. Guests tour four different companies showcasing a robust industry mix followed by a lunch and tour discussion. The companies featured on this year’s tour include: Stratos Aircraft, Utility Trailer Sales of Oregon, Gomper’s Distillery, and Radian.
